not for the gentle reader...

We have influence over the future. Choices we make affect the rest of our lives. Okay, I still have a hard time with the whole "effect vs. affect" thing… drives me crazy. I think I got it right that time.
Life is short. Kind of like this blog post.
To put it simply,
Man= sinful, in need of healing, forgiveness… a Savior.
Jesus Christ= creator, perfecter of faith, everlasting lover, SAVIOR etc.
Cars, money, "peace," food, hollywood, power etc. = not true happiness.
Jesus= forgiveness, joy in the midst of trial, reason for living (he created us, for goodness sakes)
Jesus= only way to the father, heaven, truth.

Dear friends, let us not become weak in our knowledge of the truth. The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword…
that's pretty sharp, by my observations and calculations.

I'm just in a 'say it like it is' mood. And may the Lord forgive me for not being more bold about the truth more often, while I have the chance.

He is life and all that is worth pursuing. People and things and ideas will come and go, but he is everlasting.

p.s. i'm twenty now. and blessed beyond words. excited to see his plan for the future.

  1. After reading this post & looking at my own latest, I feel like we're soul twins or something. =) You are a beautiful lady, and I so appreciate your heart. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

  2. Affect is a verb, effect is a noun.
More importantly (even though grammar is important to me), leaving your teens feels like a big step, and it really is. I really think you are quite mature, but not to the point of being boring. I think Jami is one swell person, I'm glad I know her =D

Most importantly, Jesus IS life. I absolutely love the way Frederick Martin Lehman puts it in his hymn "The Love of God".
"Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
    Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky."
I often let myself get discouraged because I cannot possibly give back to God the time and effort in my life He deserves. But in truth, He asks so little from us. Yes, read His word. And live the way The Living Word showed us.
Sorry this is so long, but yeah...

  3. So true...I love this.
